Slow Season Residency
Beginning in Fall 2026, artists of all levels and disciplines are invited to apply to spend 2–4 weeks in dedicated creative practice during Ox-Bow’s quieter seasons. Residencies are offered each year in September, October, November, March, and April, with dates scheduled around campus programming. Applicants are encouraged to indicate a range of availability in their application.
Residents enjoy a contemplative, self-directed experience on Ox-Bow’s historic campus, with private dorm-style accommodations, one family-style dinner prepared each weeknight by the Ox-Bow kitchen, and shared kitchen access featuring a stocked pantry with breakfast and lunch staples. Participants have their own dedicated, simple studio space, making this experience ideal for artists working independently in drawing, painting, writing, and other mediums that do not require specialized equipment as our specialty studios are not open during this timeframe.
The cost is $1,200 for one week; $2200 for two weeks; $3200 for three weeks; or $4200 for 4 weeks and a portfolio application is required.
