Learn the art of using soft pastel or further expand your current pastel agility. In this class we will explore successful pastel drawing by fine-tuning our focus using still life in the landscape as a subject. Each day will begin with a series of simple charcoal drawings. Participants will move slowly into applying color, with an emphasis on using big shapes and exploring value. Workshop discussions will include attaining personal focus, creating a strong composition and capturing light and shadow. New still life subjects will be set up daily. Demonstrations and personal attention will help participants reach goals and improve their own style, rounding out the instruction.
