Here in Saugatuck we have been experiencing a very rainy start to our summer season. This has inspired our community of artist in many ways. Our glass class installed a cluster of clear, plant-like glass sculptures on our currently underwater dock. In an all-hands-on-deck papermaking class exercise, the students pulled an 8 foot sheet of handmade paper from our lagoon’s water. This weather is sparking exciting collective art making experiences, but the rain is pressing us to undergo maintenance to ensure we stay running smoothly for our students, visitors and upcoming Summer Benefit. We will unfortunately have to cancel Open Studios for Friday, June 28th as we have to do extra preparation on the meadow for our big benefit tent.
We look forward to seeing you again for our next Friday Night Open Studios on July 26th! For further information, click here.
