Ox-Bow turns 100!

One hundred years ago this summer, Frederick Fursman and Walter Marshall Clute embarked on the unique experiment that became Ox-Bow as we now know it. In celebration of our future and our past, Ox-Bow will host an array of exhibitions, parties, and lectures in Chicago, Saugatuck and Douglas, and Grand Rapids, Michigan. Check back here for a calendar of events as the season approaches!

Capital Campaign

To date, Ox-Bow has raised $1.7 Million in support of its Capital Campaign, ensuring the second century of our historic school. We rely on the generosity of alumni, friends, and patrons to contribute resources that make Ox-Bow a destination for artists from throughout the world. Your support provides opportunities for artists to immerse themselves completely in artmaking, surrounded by a supportive community of artists and an inspired landscape of natural dunes, woods, and water. We are grateful to the many people who support Ox-Bow!

Summer Program

For our 100th season, we have created one our most innovative summer of courses. In celebration our long history, we are proud to offer an array of traditional and technique based courses, structured to give even the most novice of students a solid working knowledge in any of our six main studio areas. In anticipation of our exciting future, we are also infusing the curriculum with classes that question traditional methods, definitions, and even the nature of objects.
