Capital Campaign
Ox-Bow has inspired, nurtured and educated artists for 99 years. In order to meet the needs of artists, students, and faculty well into the 21st century, Ox-Bow’s leadership launched the Campaign for the Second Century.
The Campaign is a three-year fundraising effort to ensure that Ox-Bow continues to serve as one of the nation’s preeminent schools of art and artists’ residency in the country.
The majority of campaign funds are designated to improve and increase the number of facilities, allowing more students to take a greater variety of classes over a longer period of time.
Building and capital improvements include:
- A new dormitory to house students and artists
- The Metternich Lodge to house visiting artists and the director
- Works on Paper Studio to include printmaking, drawing and new media
- Winterize and upgrade the Haas Painting Studio
- Upgrade the Clute Studio
- Cabin and studio upgrades and restoration
The remaining funds are designated towards Ox-Bow’s endowment fund to make available:
- Scholarships to attract stellar students from across the country, regardless of their financial situation
- Funding for artists in residence to create their work wile adding to the richness of the cultural community that defines Ox-Bow
- A broadening roster of visiting artists
- Resources for program initiatives
- Funds for environment stewardship and campus preservation
Gifts to the Campaign for the Second Century ensure that Ox-Bow remains a pivotal artistic experience. All contributors will be recognized on a campaign plaque in Ox-Bow’s Inn and in Ox-Bow publications.
