Ox-Bow, school of art and artists’ residency, was founded in 1910, and is a Michigan not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation. Ox-Bow has a long history with its neighbors and its community. It takes pride in those friendships and works continually to foster a positive environment for its students and visitors alike. For 100 years, Ox-Bow has played host to beginning and experienced artists in an unparalleled natural setting.
Gifts to Ox-Bow support the mission, in keeping with its history, to sustain a haven for nurturing the creative process, through instruction, example, and community. Ox-Bow provides professional and beginning artists with lifelong learning opportunities and offers accredited instruction to degree-seeking students. Ox-Bow seeks to foster an appreciation of art in the surrounding community, while preserving the natural environment that has energized Ox-Bow since its founding.
