Judith Raphael has shown her paintings in solo and group exhibitions in galleries, art centers, colleges and museums in Chicago, New York, Brooklyn and Seattle. She has been a visiting artist at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and was Associate Professor of Art at Moraine Valley Community College from1970 until 2000. Ms. Raphael taught workshops and critiqued work at Ox-Bow, Anderson Ranch, Blackhawk Mountain School of Art, and the Vermont Studio Center. She has been a fellow at the Djerassi Foundation, Yaddo, the Virginia Center for the Visual Arts, The Rockefeller Foundation at Bellagio and received a year’s studio fellowship at the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation in New York City. She has won two Illinois Arts Council grants, an Illinois Arts Council Purchase Prize as well as an Arts Midwest/National Endowment for the Arts Regional Visual Arts Fellowship.
