Jessica Hutchins
Jessica Hutchins is a Portland based artist known for her large sculptures in which ceramic vessels and papier maché sit atop altered furniture and figurative forms. The work is informed by a poetic abstraction where eccentric vessels and bases suggest the erotic possibilities in the conflation of the sublime and the domestic. In the past year, Hutchins has been included in multiple museum exhibitions including the ICA Philadelphia, the Walker Art Center and the Seattle Art Museum, and has been featured in the New York Times, Artforum and Modern Painters.
