Inspired by the great Impressionist painters and the Ox-Bow landscape, kids will create their own masterpieces. We will observe the work of van Gogh, Monet, Renoir, and Seurat in a fun and engaging way. Using the Masters as inspiration, students will explore color, light, and space and create their own impressionistic paintings. Basic drawing and painting skills will be emphasized. On the final day, we will recreate Renoir’s The Luncheon of the Boating Party using costumes, props, and real food. Most materials included.
Art in the Landscape

Using the landscape at Ox-Bow, students will explore color using pencils, pastels, and acrylic paints. With the gorgeous summer greenery as a backdrop, students will explore the natural landscape to learn how to paint what they see. They will experiment with using cool and warm colors to capture the vibrancy of summer at Ox-Bow. Materials Included.
