Students will make handmade paper by learning the basics of processing fiber and sheet forming. Using cotton, abaca, and denim, students will create paper that can be works of art in and of themselves, or can be used in tandem with another art process such as photo, print, drawing, painting, sculpture, or books. Learn how to easily transpose this simple process for an at-home set-up. You will also learn special techniques such as inclusion and embossment. Students staying for the full day workshop will learn additional techniques such as how to pigment fiber for pulp layering, drawing and stenciling.
